The Birch 8 ECO Stove is a multi fuel burning DEFRA exempt stove for use in smoke control areas. This means it can be safely and legally used in all major cities and towns throughout the UK. It also exceeds Eco Design 2022 requirements.

The Birch 8 Eco Stove comprise a steel body construction with a cast iron door, a large glass picture window and air system for durability and high heat intensity while maintaining an optimal view of the flames. The Birch is also available in a 5kW version.

DEFRA included wood burning stoves in their 2019 Clean Air Strategy to reduce the amount of harmful emissions that affect air quality by ensuring stove manufacturers improve the performance and efficiency of their stoves. Since January 2022 it is a legal requirement that all solid fuel appliances sold after that date have to be Eco Design Compliant. To be Eco Design Compliant, stoves need to significantly improve emissions when compared to stoves previously on the market.
